Whats up people! I just came across this beautiful example of what a real marriage is supposed to look like. There is no doubt when one looks at these two people that it is understood that they're union had to be brought together by God. I will speaking on settling and how horrible of a thing it is to do and how to realize that is what you are doing soon. But until then enjoy this video featuring Musiq Soulchild's single "SoBeautiful"

January 20th, 2009

Whats happening people? Back for the first time...I have been been pretty busy these days with school just starting back up, and work, and all other things that gets in the way from time to time but im back. I want to thank all the people who called or texted me to wish me a fun and safe trip to Washington D.C to see Barack Obama become the 44th president of the United States (if u can't tell i just love the way that sounds) I have had a lot of people ask me how it was and all I can tell them is that it was a incredible experience. I am sure that if u ask a lot of other people who was fortunate to be in Washington DC they will tell you the same thing. But what I will do is describe my trip and maybe you can begin to see what it was like to be there.
the main question that everybody was thinking (everybody being myself, and my boys Charles and Justin who was with me) was if if and when was this "crazy" traffic going to come along, because traffic was moving way too smooth it seemed way too good to be true. I made a potential costly karmatic mistake by not having any wood to knock on when I made the first statement that we were going to get to DC before 10-10:30 like we had orginally predicted in the beginning of our trip. Justin was the first to speak up on my slip-up and i promised not to say anything until we were 10 miles out of DC before making a comment about how smoothly things had been goin. We make it into DC around 8:30 almost 2 hours before what we predicted so i was thinking to myslef that this had to be good omen that this about to be a good trip.
My Uncle Nigel was kind and gracious enough to allow me and boys to stay with him. So after we ate, and drank a lil bit i we were out to explore what Washington DC's night scene was about. But the biggest we learned about this night scene is how different the degrees of what cold was between there and NC. I must admit I was asleep on the weather probably due to me being able to deal with cold weather pretty good. I'll be the first to tell you that i was not very good at dealing with THIS cold. We were out and about the city until about 4:30 where we ended up at the infamous spot on Adams Grove called, "The Diner". Now let me tell you I have never seen nething like this before, but this line to get into this diner was as long as some club lines. I have waited just as long to get into Jabs on a busy night, as i did trying to get inside this diner. But in this line the entertainment of the night came thru. This white girl that was a lil on the chubby side of things cut everybody in line with her friends. As she foolishly tried to say that we could sit at her table if we looked the other way, this guy told her that "someone in her condition"(being overweight) shouldn't be eating after midnight in the first place. Lol I still laugh at that def. one of the funniest moments of 09 by far. We met this young ladies who were pretty drunk beside our table that gave us the idea to go ahead to go to the national mall to get in line. But there was noway we were going to make it the way we were dressed. So we go back to my uncles crib and i put on like 3 more layers of clothing (still nowhere near enoough that bitter wind did a number on me i have to admit)
We leave right back out and we get to the Metro station which took us to the Union Station. And not to our surprise there are masses of people already there. CNN said that at 5 Am there was already 700,000 people there. Walking to where we were going to be standing the crowd was chanting "Yes we can", and "O-B-A-M-A" It was a crazy feeling, i feel as if this feeling must be similar to how our American forefathers who marched in the key events such as the Civil rights march in Washington, or even like the Million Man March at the end of the 21st century. I lie to you not not in one single day of my life have I ever seen so many people at one time and place EVER! It was amazing, totally indescribable. It is one thing to see this on television, but to actually be amongst ones who can actually witness this in the flesh to see history unveiled right in front of you was absolutely a blessing from god that i was able to experience that. As clique as this sounds but I really can sit my children and my grandchildren on my lap and be able to tell them they Grandpa Art was actually there to see the first African-American president sworn into the highest office in the free world. This is something that happened not even 60 years after four black men were refused service at a Woolworth's diner about 5 miles away from where i sit that started this road. Words like this is Crazy, or awesome, great, or to any other synonyms do far from enough justice of what this was like. Seeing President Obama's banner risen up beside other president's banners on the National Treasury building, seeing the combination of people from all walks of life coming together to celebrate this occasion. I seen and heard of people coming from countries such as Germany and the Ivory Coast for the day just to experience this.
Was it worth all the miles that walked to get to our destination, the miles we drove, the frozen feet (to a point where my feet felt like boots with weights in them) of course it was. I will do it again and again if i had to choice to re-consider going thru all we went thru.
In our last night in DC by this time I only had 2 and a half hours of sleep for a 48 hour period we went to The Park at fourteenth for the Legends Ball Gala. It was a great way to cap off our trip. Beautiful and very classy nightclub, most down to earth security that i have encountered. If you are ever in the area its def a club that I would suggest you visit. I spoke with a handful of celebrities that night Isiah Washington formally of Grey's Anatomy, Jalen Rose, Biz Markie, Dj Kid Capri (who does look REALLY regular by the way) which was a treat and a lil out the ordinary. Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh hosted the party and did a damn good job might i add. Doug E. Fresh reminded us of something we all kno but should always be reminded of, and that is that we have this one life. Grab it by the horns, if you have a opportunity to do something you really want to do and u can't come up with 3 good reasons why u shouldn't do it then u should look into doing it. Why not? If you want to be the first black MVP of NASCAR then put ur all into it and do it. If you want to be the first Asian MVP of the NBA go to the court and practice. I am excited to possibly the next Mexican-American President of the United States. the ceiling of having to be a Protestant white male is gone forever. You can now do nething u put your mind on and I thank President Obama for showing the world that. If u are still hating on this man for doing this, or your a racist and don't like the change he has helped bring us, or a combination of all these things i have one simple instruction for you kill yourself. I don't mean that literally but if things are really that hard for u you may want to consider it. Until the next time

Lookin back at 2008
Whats good People? My 3rd annual year-end wrap-up (First here...so if this is your first time welcome) comes about 24 hours late due to my slackness, and not bein around a computer most of the day...but I heard somewhere that its better late than never so with that said...here we go
1.) Strength- I learned a lot about myself in 08'. Things that I always knew about myself but was never really tested on it until this past year. Of course I passed with flying colors but it wasn't easy. In this past year everybody that I know was hit by the recession HARD. People losing jobs, losing hours, gas prices bein insane costing close to 100 for a tank of gas (bananas by the way), etc. But all those things aside I haven't seen a lot of people crack. What;s the saying that, "Pressure burst pipes" it does but if u keep a level head on ur shoulders and remember that this is not forever and that this is going to do nothing but further define u into the person ur going to become u r going to be okay. I like what someones status on here saying that "It was a rough year but a defining one." If there was never a year that showed that ya boi wasn't going to give in 2008 was definitely it. We have to also remember that as bad as you have it there is def. somebody out there who has it worse so feel blessed. So wit that said it is okay to vent and let somethings off ur chest, but when u go overboard and start griping, and crying, having a bad attitude towards everything u are definitely not doing yourself NE GOOD! ur jus bein a grumpy person that people are going to eventually gonna start want to stop hearin it. Like my man Cam said in Paid in Full "Pull you skirt down B" Roll wit dem punches u gotta bob em and weave em
2.) Know who ur dealin with- At the end of the day you got to know who your dealin with. Dr. Maya Angelou said prolly one of the realest quote ever said "When someone shows you who they are believe them." People are going to show you who they are, that is why it is important that you pay attention when they are doing so. This goes for all kind of things it could be for spotting a hoe...If they say and do things that say that they get down believe them. Y are we giving people the benefit of the doubt? If u show me that ur a disloyal and weak, trust me I am gonna believe you so that u are not around me in a tough situation cus ur not going to be able to stand ur ground n u might piss ur pants. If you looking for somebody to ride with you your not going to have the person that has real shaky character. My cousin analogy of weak people was really good he said (paraphrasing), "They try to come off as a Benz or some other foreign luxury car maker but at the end of the day they are just a Ford Taurus" Broads, Hoe-niggas are just Fords...Just not about what they yap about. I do this, i do that, if i were him I'll do that, but when something actually pops its a brand new day their ra-ra engine dies out. You gotta look at peoples actions instead of their words(talk is cheap) so that they aren't as brand new. It was Forrest Gump that said, "Stupid is what stupid does" well for the sake of this lets say that" ____is what ____does" If u say that ur not a hoe but u gettin dogged out on the regular, and a group niggas have mostly ran thru u, I hate to break it but ur hoe. If u say that u r a G but then it turns out that ur resume does not support that, and there has been incidents where ur g has been tested and you didn't pass then that means ur not a G. If you want to find out sooner about these people use ur intuition (Y its believed that females are the only ones who have it is a mystery) and test these people wit strategic questions.
3.) March to the beat of your own drum- There are so many people out there tellin you how u should do this and how u should do that, whats wrong with how your doing things currently and I say this to you... tell em to get theirs, and if they don't have nething for themselves to get tell em to get it for somebody else. I don't answer to no one but God. Not a supervisor, a girl, the government, no one because no human being shouldn't be able to judge us because they aren't perfect themselves. I've been mislead a couple times by not listening to my gut feeling and not held my ground. No more for this guy, if i am going to make a mistake I want it to be a mistake i made not one that came from such n such. People might be out doing this, saying this, wearing that but u shouldn't go by that. No offense to people who dress like this but there is no way this young man is EVER in life going to wear nut hugger jeans. I am not Mick Jagger its just not my thing, but I notice that urban society is trying to move towards that. That is the "cool" thing these days but regardless to how "cool" it becomes u do not have to worry about this Bald guy being in a pair.
4.) Live your life- There is too many people out here forgettin the fact that you only have one life to live. You do not get a re-do at this so why are we pitty pattin like we do? There is something that you have always wanted to do but fear of failing has been in you way of pursuing that goal. You need to let go of that. Failure is not gonna break you it just further defines u and is necessary. The way u figure out if you are u really living or jus going thru to motions of the mundane everyday hustle is askin yourself if you were to die tomorrow do you think it was a life well lived. Could you be satisfied with leavin things the way ur leaving them. U can be like im gonna do this and that like 5 years from now when i have a real job but u never kno u might meet a Bear one night and he might eat u or somethin like dat and it would have jus been like damn I wish I knew I was gonna meet this bear yesterday. Speaking for myself I can say that I will be okay and for every day that God gives me I will live it to the fullest. I hope that each of you feel the same way. Live your life
2008 was one year that had many plots and twist as well as turns. It was trivial and defining year. I look forward at 2009 with optimism, and a focused mind, and I am excited to next years 4th annual year-end wrap up. I am not perfect nor do i mean to be depicted to anything close to it I am just somebody who is always trying to excel and help my people do the same this is 50% of y i do this every year. Be Blessed and have a brilliant 2009
PS: Obama! January 20th, 2009 Change Has Come!!!
